Opportunity
A downloadable game
In 2004, the American rover Opportunity landed on Mars. The mission to search for signs of life on the planet was expected to last 3 months. Instead, because of luck and mission ingenuity, Opportunity continued for more than 14 years. She and her twin rover Spirit helped discover some of the first clear signs of ancient water on Mars and reinvigorated exploration of the red planet.
Opportunity is a fast-playing solo strategy game that gives you the chance to control the mission yourself. How successful will you be?
Your mission: Move point-to-point across Mars. Make as many Discoveries as you can. Keep going for as long as you can. Score as high as you can.
You'll need: One deck of poker cards and two different colored six-sided (d6) dice (one for rolling, the other as a game piece).
The game can be printed and played on a single sheet, or you can assemble it as a front-and-back postcard game. Either way, you'll also need to cut out and assemble the counters so they have a front and back.
